⚜️ Some of our past research stories ⚜️
Charles Septimus Pike:
A specifc military family member who served in India during the early 1900's. We managed to provide evidence of his service records and also some very interesting unknown information regarding his time in India and his parental line.
Henry Christian Clarke:
Although born in Swansea in 1906, as a result of our research we were able to take the family back to Barbados and eventually into the Slave Resgisters and ancestors born into slavery.
George Edward Krey:
We were asked to research a grandfather who the family had very little information on his lineage. Born in 1908 in East Ham, George Edward Krey turned out to be quite a colourful character with an occasional incarceration on Her Majesty's pleasure. That aside, the Krey family name actually had its origins in Hannover, Lower Saxony and we were able to trace back to 1765 and Jurgen Freidrich Krey who was from Diesdorf, Salzwedel, Deutschland.
George Sead Gowing:
Taking in the task to complete a comprehensive story of their family history, we were asked to help in researching the Gowing's from Lowestoft, Suffolk. The problem here was that Gowing/Gowen is a very common surname with many duplicate names. After extensive research and transposing of parish registers. We were able to complete the family tree back to the 1600's and also include many interesting facets of the family names and stories. These stories included WWI service records, specific areas of Lowestoft named after the family in the "Gowing Scores", now called "Martins Score", the families extensive involvement in the fishing industry and their vessels in operation from Lowestoft. We also included details of some interesting extended family members, one engineering ancestor who was involved in the construction of The Crystal Palace and also famous bridges in Rome. We also discovered a connection to an American born Quaker of Welsh descent who was an influential abolitionist of the Slave trade in Colonial America and Great Britian.
